Abstain
from every form of evil - I Thess 5:22
Every
evil event has connection with the devil. So a man who fails to disconnect from
evil association takes the devil as his lord. If he fails to abstain from every
evil appearance and counsel of the devil, the devil will drain out
God's goodness out of his life.
There are gatherings, associations and companies which have a godly appearance but have their roots in the pit of hell. If your friendship or network is draining your spiritual stability instead of sustaining and fortifying it, it will be wise to do a spiritual diagnosis. This will help you to discern rightly on the steps to take.
Governor Zerubbabel was deceitfully invited to a secret meeting with some anti-progress personalities who appear to be true lovers of God's building project. Had he honoured their invitation, the foundation and altar of the Lord's house would not have been built (Ezra 4:1-5). His discernment of their intention saved his life. Are you in the right company of people who are heaven-seekers or in an ungodly association with people who appear to be godly but with devilish intentions? Wise up! May you never be entrapped in the nets of ungodly men who appear as angels of light in the name of Jesus
