CHEAP SACRIFICE

But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on buying it, for I will not present burnt offerings to the LORD my God that have cost me nothing.” So David paid him fifty pieces of silver for the threshing floor and the oxen. - II Sam 24:24

Cain felt he could present whatsoever comes to his mind to God, without thinking sacrificially. No wonder he missed the mark. His sacrifice was rejected. God disregards the sacrifice of a giver who conceives Him as a beggar. God will not boss you to give, but will rather give you a bountiful harvest if you give to Him blissfully and bountifully.

While David had the option to offer a cheap sacrifice to God, he rather chose to go the costly way. He refused to deep his hands into another man's treasury in offering to God. He refused to deprive his subject of valuables in seeking God's divine intervention.

From today, make your sacrifices count before God and you will see God make you lose count of your blessings. May your heart be stirred to give sacrificially to God for uncommon saturation of His favour all round your life, in Jesus name.
