Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross - Col 2:14
The Cross is not a symbol of shame but a picture of the victory accomplished by Christ. Although the Cross is a picture of the suffering of Christ for the salvation of mankind yet it assures us that we have a Saviour who gave up Himself as a ransom for our sins.
Without the Cross, we will not have discovered the pathway to true salvation, which Jesus alone provides. If you have not traced your way to the Cross, you would be tossed about by every wind of false doctrine and teachings that are contrary to the principles of Christ. Because Christ died on the Cross and did not make the Cross His eternal dwelling, we have a lively and blessed hope of glory.
Sorrow, pain and shame were all nailed on the Cross so we could enjoy overflowing peace and joy in the Lord. Whenever you come to the Cross, the limitations of your life are erased to usher in a new beginning of joy and great glory. Therefore, cling to the Cross; the old rugged Cross for a glorious experience of uncommon blessings. There are no crossroads at the Cross; it only shows the pathway of life marked with righteousness and holiness. Pray with me, “May the wonders and blessings of the Cross find expression in my life in Jesus name.” Amen.
