THE GIANT IN THE ANT

Go the ant, you sluggard; consider her way and be wise – Proverbs 6:6

The central theme of diligence is very illuminating through the biblical reference to the attributes of the ant. The ant is an amazing species of the animal kingdom that cannot be despised even though it doesn’t occupy a sizable territory in the animal kingdom. One of the amazing attributes of the ant is the spirit of diligence.

If the ant could constitute a biblical reference point in understanding diligence, you need to humble yourself and take a leaf from its book, to get wired for a life of productivity and impact. Our default mechanism as humans stirs us to pursue pleasure above the pains of self-discipline. Every man who wants to attain stardom and excellence will have to embrace smart and hard work.

Aside from the fact that the ant is a hard worker, it is also very smart. It is a forward-thinking species. It prepares for the rainy day by flinging itself into hard work early on prior to the future days of harvest. The ant doesn’t have an overseer to provide it with direction and supervision. If the people around you have to breathe down on your neck before you bring value to the table, then you would be considered as someone who has put the giant in him to sleep.

Even though the ant is small in size, the giants of diligence, proactiveness and forward-thinking dwell in it. This accounts for why the ant will not suffer when hard times hit the animal kingdom. Therefore, put aside the unwise and unprofitable attitude that is ravaging your dream of greatness and fulfilled destiny. Begin to embrace the virtues of the ant as painted by the Scripture. May your heart be re-wired with the impetus to wake up the giant in you, for global and generational impact in Jesus name.
