And of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs, and all their kinsmen were under their command – I Chronicles 12:32
A leader who cannot discern or see the big picture is yet to be sculptured for impact and wouldn’t be able to nurture his team into maturity and guarantee their security. If you are on the flip side of leadership, you can neither go far in life if your heart is darkened with confusion and your emotion is distorted with fears and cares.
So, it takes a heart that is enlightened and sensitive to cease opportunities, take calculated risk, rise to the occasion in the face of danger and tough opposition and to proactively prepare the ground for exploits.
The sons of Issachar were exceptional descendants of Jacob. This was evidenced by their foresight and remarkable perception. They were special consultants that provided the Israelites with intelligence and their kinsmen with marching orders to secure uncommon victory over their adversaries.
And by virtue of their discernment and swift understanding of the times, they earned a dignified place in the history of Israel. Therefore, I pray God endow you with the spirit of discernment to enable you become the pathfinder which the world is yearning for in Jesus name.
