THE DAY OF SALVATION

…Behold, now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation – II Cor. 6:2

There are no two ways about beginning a covenant walk with God than to encounter the saving power of Jesus. The salvation of the soul of man is supreme in the heart of God. This unveils the rationale behind the dissension of Christ to the earth to die for the sins of humanity. Without the death of Christ, the cost of forgiveness of sin would have been inestimable, immeasurable and unaffordable for even the wealthiest man on earth.

When Jesus said that, “It is finished”, He made a full settlement for the penalty of sin, so that the wrath of God and His judgment against sinful living could be appeased. The death of Jesus is the foundation upon which the Day of Salvation is established. The Day of Salvation is present and not futuristic. It is not meant to be postponed because it is unwise to buy time, thinking that you can keep God on the string, before you decide the course of your life. It is not meant to be despised because Jesus paid for it, despising the shame of His crucifixion.

If you want to escape the wrath of the Day of Doom or Judgment, when men will suffer untold tribulation, it makes spiritual sense to lay your heart for the Lord now while the Day of Salvation is staring you at the face. Anyone who postpones his day of salvation may never live to see it again. If your heart is far away from God, ask Him to save your soul today, for your divine recognition as a child of God, for your eligibility into God’s family and for your registration in the Book of Life as one of the recognised citizens of heaven.
