THE COST OF SEDUCTION

He answered, I am a prophet also, as you are. And an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying, Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied to him. - I King 13:18

The consequence of being seduced from the path of life is exceedingly ravaging. A careless and insensitive Christian may become a victim of seduction through the instrument of ungodly counsel. So a child of God who damns the consequence of entertaining and embracing unwise counsel is riding for a fall.

Beware of enticing offers that could ruin your relationship with God and cost you your peace and joy. Beware of the counsel of false teachers and false friends that does not have root in the scripture, lest you fall prey of their teaching and erroneous doctrine. Because they know in their heart of hearts that God is not pleased with their ways, they sought means to sever your ties with God.

The old prophet in I King 13 sailed under false colour as a genuine man of God. He seduced the young prophet from the path which God had commanded him to follow. Before you deviate from God’s counsel for your life, consider the excruciating cost and resolve to cleave to God. Don't allow pressure and poisonous gratification to make you lose favour with God. If you determine to follow God’s way, you will definitely reach your high places of honour. The young prophet acted contrary to God’s will and was killed by a voracious lion. May your destiny not go downhill as you resolve to do the will of God in Jesus name.
