THE SEAT OF LEADERSHIP

...One shall sit upon it (throne) in truth and faithfulness in the tent of David, judging and seeking justice and being swift to do righteousness – Isaiah 16:5

Every impactful leader understands that uneasy lies the head that wears a crown. Inasmuch as it is prestigious to occupy the seat of leadership, true leaders rise to the challenge and discharge the responsibilities that accompany their position. They take ownership of their mandate and demonstrate the required competence even when push comes to shove.

Anyone who desires to occupy the seat of leadership must:

1. Have the SEAL of leadership. This implies that leaders must be commissioned and endorsed for the leadership seat they occupy. God the Father endorsed Jesus Christ when He was baptized. God said, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him” (Mark 9:7).

2. Have the ZEAL to deliver on the mandate that establish his or her leadership position. The Lord Jesus demonstrated the zeal to fulfill His ministry within the window of opportunity He had while He was on earth. Similarly, Apostle Paul did not allow anyone to throw cold water on his passion for the kingdom.

3. Be a FIT and proper person with the FEET to walk the talk. That is, impactful leaders must have what it takes to build and lead a dream team coupled with a mark of integrity and recognition as a true and tried personality.

The responsibilities of a leader are certainly enormous, in that the seat of leadership requires a leader to wear more than one hat. However, with the combination of the seal of leadership, the zeal and feet to walk the talk, with integrity not taking the back seat, it becomes accomplishable for a leader to hit the mark and earn his spurs. May the Lord find you worthy as a profitable vessel and endow you with the potential to enrich your world in Jesus name.
