Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. – Hosea 10:12
Every major turnaround is preceded by a conscious effort to break up your fallow ground. This validates the fact that the experience of a positive turnaround does not come by chance. Change is not a product of chance. Change is a product of conscious effort to set and live by new principles and values or improve on the existing ones. If you are unwilling to soil your hands and earn your spurs, you might be left with the sole option to experience a good life through the hard way.
While navigating through life, you would be presented with the opportunity to either choose a maximum-impact life or to settle for an average life. Everyone who is desirous to reach for the stars must be willing and resolved to break through limits. You need to exercise and prepare your mind to confront opposing forces to your success; to cast down imaginations of limitations and to wrestle against the fear of failure. However, if you sit idly by expecting life to serve you a square meal, you may find yourself going through the mill and recycling a junkyard of regrets.
Hope is a good breakfast but a bad supper. Sadly, many people prefer to hope for things without a corresponding drive to engage your hands to break up their fallow grounds. They nurture an expectancy of harvest but wind up reaping the harvest of bitterness. Don’t fiddle away your destiny by running around in circles; rather be resolved to cultivate your field; weed out the distractions to actualizing God’s plan for your life and pursue with vengeance God’s purpose for your life. Until you break up your fallow ground, you might be oblivious that you are sitting on a gold mine. May you reap the harvest of joy and all round satisfaction as you apply heart and keep your hands to the plough in Jesus name.
