How shall we escape [appropriate retribution] if we neglect andrefuse to pay attention to such a great salvation [as is now offered to us, letting it drift past us forever]? - Heb. 2:3
Ignorance of God's salvation is no bliss. Your excuses for not yielding and submitting yourself to the Lordship of Jesus won't wash or considered acceptable in the sight of God. Every time you make excuses for adjourning the redemption of your soul, you fuel God's anger towards you and at the same time strengthens the hold of the devil on your life. Hence, your response to the salvation of your soul should be swift less your indecision may cause you to weep in eternity.
The Bible does not endorse a Christian who juggles worldliness with godliness. After the salvation of many, they are oblivious of God's expectation for their lives. They allow the world pattern to influence their attitude, appearance and appetite. For some, they are unable to draw the line between addiction that adulterates their spirituality and royalty as God's beloved and addictions that will make them God's favourites. Hence, you mustn't lose sight of your purity, because your proximity to God is not based on the number of times you go to church but on the strength of your connection to the Head of the Church, who is Christ.
Are you beginning to lose appetite and passion for the high way of holiness? Your best bet isn't to neglect the Lord's salvation. The devil knows that you will be done for the moment you exchange the gift of salvation for the gains of inordinate pleasure. Neglecting God's salvation will make your name to be blotted out of the Book of Life. And if your name is yet to be inscribed in the Book of Life, know that God does not reserve or book space or seat for sinners in heaven until they have their names written in the Book of Life. Hence, flee from sin and run to Jesus today for the salvation of your soul. May your heart be receptive to the gift of God's salvation, which is eternal life, and remain united with the Lord without drawing back in Jesus name.
