God does not need human
validation to prove the authenticity of His promises. The promises of God are
divine proofs that speak to the faithfulness and generosity of God towards His
people. The timing of the promise of God is a reflection of the sovereignty of
God. God will rather do what He wants to whenever He wants to. However, the
fact that God is unquestionable does not mean He will allow His integrity to be
questioned and despised, when it appears as if He is late. The Lord God knows
that His reputation will be on the line if any of His spoken words go
unfulfilled. I read from Selwyn Hughes, the writer of Every Day With Jesus,
that God is both a covenant making and covenant keeping God. Put differently,
God makes promises and never goes back on His word.
God’s promises are yes and
amen. This means that amen to God’s promises represents divine endorsements
that comes with assurance of timely settlement over disappointment. god
does not boil the ocean whenever He wants to fulfill a promise. The fulfilment
of His promise does not drag on because He is always on time. While you are
waiting on God, be assured God is at work because He does not want to give you
a half-baked miracle. Abraham knew that the promises of God are yes and amen.
That was why He operated in the ASSURANCE OF TRUST OVER DOUBT. He didn’t
stagger through unbelief but was strong in faith and gave glory to God in
advance of what He has purposed to do in his life.
David had no misgiving about
the submission that the God of yesterday is still the God of today and would
still remain as God in eternity. This gave David the ASSURANCE OF TESTIMONY
OVER the TRIAL that confronted the children of Israel. While Goliath kept on
inspiring fear in the hearts of the Israelites, God was busy grooming David to
take the center stage. The emergence of David on the battlefield, upon which
Goliath had defied the armies of the Lord, ushered in new grounds for testimony
of victory for the children of Israel. Because David had the mandate of God for
the battle against Goliath, he was not disappointed neither were the Lord’s
people have their heads bowed in shame. This speaks to the fact that when God
says amen to your battle against your adversary, you will certainly return with
spoils of war. Hence, may the promises of God to you yield harvest of abundant testimonies
for you in Jesus name.
