Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. – Ephesians 6:10
It is dangerous and reckless for a lightweight Christian to wrestle against the devil. If you can’t contend earnestly against the devil, it doesn’t worth the trouble attacking him. When the scripture says, fight the good fight of faith, it doesn’t imply fighting a losing battle or fighting with butterflies in your stomach. It rather means standing on the assurance of faith that you are more than conqueror. It means not allowing fear to stand in the way of your victory. Hence, before heaven can certify you as a heavyweight Christian, you need to lay aside the weight of sin, fear, doubt and take up the whole armour of God to withstand the devil.
As you journey in your Christian faith, the battle against the devil is uphill all the way. That is why God expects you to keep building your spiritual muscle before you begin to pull down the strongholds of the devil. This also explains why half-baked Christians are often tossed to and fro. More often than not, they do not have a growing appetite for the things of God. They often allow feeding on spiritual edibles to fall by the way side while they attempt to juggle spirituality with worldliness. If you cannot recount what is written in the scripture while on the battlefield, the devil will take advantage of your ignorance of the scripture.
Apostle Paul had this to say, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phil 4:13). Hence, the strength you need to weather the storm and keep flying high as a soldier of Christ is the power of the Holy Spirit.  Any Christian professing to be strong but lacking in God’s power will certainly cower with fear when the devil roars like a lion. However, those who build up their most holy faith praying in the spirit will certainly be strong to disarm principalities and power and to do exploits. If you don’t want the devil to have the upper hand in your life, you need to keep fit spiritually and stay undefiled until the perfect day of your departure from the earth. May you never become a laughingstock in the hands of the devil as you keep fit and grow in the grace of the Lord in Jesus name
