THE BREVITY OF LIFE

“Man, who is born of a woman,. is of few days, and full of trouble. -  Job 14:1

It is irrefutable that life is short and that time is swift. On account of this,  many are plunging themselves into inordinate fanfare only to wind up in everlasting torment. In many quarters, the reality of God's judgment is considered a theological fiction and deception to instill fear in the hearts of people. Truth be told, allowing the devil to disabuse you of the fury of God's judgment towards worldliness is doing yourself an eternal disservice.

The brevity of life is not meant to excite us with the pleasures of the world while they last. For those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, it is to incite them with the zeal to exemplify godliness and also to warn many against the impending judgment of God.

Consequently, living on the assumption that life is the gate-pass for amassing wealth, fame, recognition while neglecting the pursuit of God would ruin your hope of eternal life. Bear in mind that the life here on earth is an insignificant fragment of the life after this life. Hence, you need to resolve today to live for Christ so Christ could live in you and make you a living testimony now and in the next world to come. As you live up to God's expectations in true righteousness, may you never lose the inestimable heritage of eternal life in Jesus name.
