Beloved,
while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I
found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the
faith which was once for all delivered to the saints - Jude 1:1
Every Christian is enlisted into the army of God to fight the good fight of faith. If you don't want to fight the good fight, then you are not qualified to live the Christian life. Understand that there are forces that are making relentless attempt to get you downcast, frustrated and perplexed.
This underscores why the Bible says, "Put on the whole armour of God that you might be able to stand against the wiles of the devil". Apostle Jude made us to realise that some deceptive people are in the Church of God to lure others into sin. Are you being enticed with an ungodly offer for pleasure, fame and self-glory? You just have to contend earnestly against every unholy and unprofitable package aimed at caging you from experiencing the joy of the Lord.
A believer who fails to fight the good fight of faith should expect defeat and stagnation in his pilgrimage. Until you earnestly contend for the faith, God will not consider you a commandant in His Kingdom. The three Hebrew boys contended for the faith and resolved not to take a bow to a crafted golden image. They were frightened with fire but in the end, the fire failed to overpower them. Therefore, put on strength and stand up against the wiles of the devil; for you are more than a conqueror. May you find the joy and strength to unite with God's people in the global fight to enthrone righteousness, peace and dignity in Jesus name.
