JACOB’S TROUBLE

Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; and it is the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it - Jer 30:7

No one prays for trouble but troubles visits a man without his invitation. Job was visited with trouble which robbed him of all that he had except his life. Although he did not die in his trouble, but his body, soul and spirit was severely troubled. Trouble is a period when everything seems to tumble and turn upside down.

The worst of all trouble is Jacob’s trouble, which speaks of the Great Tribulation. Whenever the Bible talks about a period of pain that is incomparable to any other period in history, it tends to unveil the mystery of the Great Tribulation. What a trouble it will be on that Day when the whole world will be in total chaos and confusion! That was why the Bible says, “…How shall be escape  if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him” (Heb 2:3).

The Great Tribulation is not meant to frighten us but to alert and prepare us for the flight out of this perverse generation. You can’t afford to be ignorant of the fact that many false prophets are in the world, teaching heresies; many are now lovers of pleasure than lovers of God; many are being distracted by the things of the world.

If what is in your hands will not earn you a place in heaven, why not hand it over or disown it so you could own everything God has gone ahead to prepare for you. If you wait to experience the time of Jacob’s trouble before you amend your ways, you may not be able to joggle your way out of the Great Tribulation. May you never be a partaker of the Day of Jacob’s Trouble in Jesus name. Amen.
