A MAN OF SORROWS

“He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows…” (Isaiah 53:3)

In order to perfect our joy, Jesus had the sorrow of the world upon Him while on the Cross. The Scripture says, “He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows…” (Isaiah 53:3) He became sorrowful so we can draw joy from the well of salvation. He was pierced with arrows so we can escape the arrow of grief and pain. He was wounded with pains, so we could be counted gainers and inheritors of His everlasting joy.

Without dying a sorrowful death as being crucified, we wouldn’t have gotten a brighter and better tomorrow. He died wretched and sorrowful so we could live above borrowing but rather abounding with the blessings of the Lord. While experiencing the sorrowful and painful agony of death, He nailed poverty on the Cross so we should no longer wallow in poverty and shame.

However, until you walk through the narrow way, leading to everlasting life, you will never benefit from the gains of His sorrowful death. The narrow way doesn’t accommodate the things of this world but holiness and righteousness. Therefore, I pray Jesus’ sorrowful death translate to a life of abundance and everlasting joy for you all the days of your life, in Jesus name.
