“And He has put a new song in my mouth…” – Ps. 40:3
God doesn’t want you to be overwhelmed by the testimonies and victories of yesterday; He rather wants you to overflow with the joy of the victories that lies ahead of you. When the disciples of Christ returned from their missionary assignment with joy and reported that demons were subject to them, Jesus charged them to rather rejoice because their names are written in heaven.
Remembering and celebrating the victories and successes of yesterday is not the ultimate plan of God for your life. The phase of success you have achieved hitherto is just a token of the manifold goodness of God towards to you. So if you have only been singing and celebrating yesterday’s victories, God says, “I will do a new thing.”
God doesn’t allow His children to run out of joy; He rather makes their joy to overflow. When your joy overflows, your heart overflows with praises and gratitude for the manifold manifestations of the wonders of God in your life.
Three things could make a believer to sing a new song: (1) When God takes him out of the VALLEY and place him on the pinnacle of glory (2) When God gives him uncommon VICTORY (3) When God makes him a VOICE to express gratitude for His wonderful works.
If it appears that your joy is running dry, God will open up a new realm of miracles in your life that will fill your heart with new songs. May the Lord remember you and put new songs in your mouth to sing in the name of Jesus.
