“You will arise and have mercy on Zion, for the time to favour her; yea the set time has come.” – Ps. 102:13
When God’s favour mixes with your labour, the effect of your labour becomes invisible because favour speaks louder than labour. And when God’s favour speaks for you, you don’t need extra spiritual or physical muscle in the place of prayer. Favour preserves your spiritual muscle that you have prepared for praying, but rather exercises it for praising God when your heart desires are granted without sweating.
God’s favour gives you rest from struggle and continuous labour. Labour or hard work is not a curse but when God’s favour is at work, the input of labour to your greatest success becomes insignificant. While many labour, struggle and work very hard, failure and disappointment still drag them into the pit of frustration.
At times, favour excuses you from labour so that all the glory could be ascribed to God alone. When God gave the Israelites houses that they didn’t build and vineyard they didn’t plant, God revealed to them that their attainment to prosperity and all round satisfaction was not the product of joint effort.
So when God’s favour is at work in your life, you can’t attribute the inherent blessings to your joint effort with God. Therefore, when God favours and turns your life around, the mathematical reason for your testimony becomes God’s favour plus your zero labour. I pray that this 6th month, which is the last month of the first half of 2015, shall be your month of favour and pleasant surprises in Jesus name.
