“Let the word of God dwell in you richly in all wisdom and spiritual understanding…” Col 3:16
The word of God is an indomitable amour of God without which the devil could inflict harm on you. It is also the divine meal for the nourishment and enrichment of your soul. So, a Christian who doesn’t feast on the word of God is vulnerable to the intimation, attack and torment of the devil.
God expects you to be divinely enriched with His word. A Christian who is abundantly enriched with the word of God has a spiritual reservoir from which he can draw power to do exploit. David had five stones in his shepherd bag from which he drew the Stone that brought Goliath on his knees.
Many Christians are bankrupt of the word of God because their pursuits have shifted from God to the pursuit of material and fleshy possessions. A Christian who is bankrupt of the word of God gives the devil ample opportunity to corrupt the programme and purpose of God for his life.
The Bible says that, “...Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Matt. 12:34). So if your spiritual reservoir, that is your heart, is drained and not enriched with the word of God, the devil will feed and fuel your heart with spiritual virus to misdirect, misinform and manipulate your destiny. But the enrichment of your heart with God’s word makes you to (1) be bold and battle ready against every adversary (2) break-forth into miracles, signs and wonders because the word works wonders (3) blossom as a tree of righteousness, with godly virtues and fruits that are ready for eternal harvest.
May the Lord give you a hunger to delight in His word for the enrichment of your soul and for the accomplishment of victory over the wiles of the devil in Jesus name. Amen
