JESUS TOOK THE FALL

He was oppressed. He was afflicted. He was submissive and opened not His mouth, like a lamb that is led to the slaughter … - Isaiah 53:7

In the spirit of humility and total submission to the will of His Father, Jesus decided to lay down His life for the redemption of man. He was not cajoled or press-ganged by His Father before He yielded to do His Father’s will. Though it was a tall order for Him to be crucified as a curse for the sins He had not committed, yet He chose to lay down His life as a ransom of inestimable value.

Jesus wasn’t a criminal. The charges that were pressed against Him by the Pharisees held no water. The Jews that wanted Him crucified could not justify their position to have Him nailed on the cross. But because it was expedient for Him to die and become the Captain of our salvation and for many to be translated from darkness to light, He willingly laid down His life like a lamb led to the slaughter.

Through the death of Jesus, the concept of divine substitution came to the fore. The Bible says that, “The wages of sin is death” and that “The soul that sins shall die”. So, instead of settling the penalty of sin with your blood, Jesus died in your place. He took the fall. He was condemned for the sins which He was not a party to. The death of Christ was a miscarriage of justice but in the sight of God it was the proper channel to follow to settle the score between God and man, without the use of bulls and goats as sacrifice for atonement of sin year in year out.

This was also done with the divine will to open the gate of salvation to everyone who believe in the death of Jesus, who are ready do the will of God with a sincere heart. Therefore, pray to God to align you with His ways, purpose and plan for your life, for the redemption and preservation of your soul. May you not be disqualified when the saints of God are called up yonder in Jesus name.
