The Lord is a Man of War; the Lord is His name – Ex. 15:3
Jesus didn’t struggle before He became a Champion over the forces of darkness. His victory had been right from the beginning. When darkness was over the earth, the emergence of Jesus as the Light of the world changed the status quo from obscurity to brightness. The principalities, powers and rulers of darkness subordinate themselves to the name of Jesus. They don’t raise objection at the word of Jesus, because the word of God is quick and powerful.
The victory of Jesus over death gives us the assurance and confidence that we have a God who can deliver us from the power of the grave. The grave has swallowed up many destinies partly because they were oblivious of the name of Jesus, as the Strong Tower into which they can find safety in the time of trouble. Jesus did not see corruption in the grave because He disrupted the agenda and scheme of the devil to hold Him captive therein.
Aside from the victory of Jesus over darkness and death, Jesus also overcame the devices of the devil when He was tempted prior to the commencement of His ministry. He was too spiritually and scripturally intelligent for the devil to throw Him off balance. The schemes of the devil to make Jesus to be subservient to him were frustrated because Jesus is the Wisdom of God. No scheme can prevail over the Wisdom of God. Because Jesus wins and will continue to win, I pray that every battle that commences the year with you will become history as the Lord gives you victory over them all in Jesus name. Happy Boxing Day!
