I assure you most solemnly I tell you if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father – John 14:12
Good leaders demonstrate the
needed competence to achieve their goals. They display the traits and virtues
that qualify them to call the shots. They are able to throw their weight around
to achieve their plans. They also demonstrate skills and competences that enable
them to earn the respect and loyalty of their team. In addition, they are able
to juggle between tasks in such a way that hit their team between the eyes.
However, there is a greater
dimension to leadership which supersedes your ability to impress your team with
your competences and skills. When leaders give their team members the
opportunity to build and develop confidence in themselves rather than just
being preoccupied with gaining the confidence of their team, they transit from
being good leaders to great leaders. Jethro, the father-in-law of Moses, helped
Moses to transit from being an impressive leader to an impactful leader.
All along, Moses was bogged
down with the enormous task of judging and teaching the Israelites the Law of
the Lord. The overwhelming number of the Israelites thronged around him for
direction on the Law of the Lord. Moses really knew his onions. However, it
behooved him to delegate his enormous tasks to other potential leaders, whom he
could entrust with such assignment, if he must make huge impact as a leader.
Have you taken the time and
pain to build and groom your team? Can you entrust them with major task with
little supervision? If yes, it will not be inappropriate to reach the
conclusion that you are an impactful leader; otherwise, it is never late in the
day to make a transition to become an impactful leader. May the Lord endow you
with wisdom and grace to flourish as an impactful leader in Jesus name
