INTENTIONAL GROWTH vs. AUTOMATIC GROWTH

…be transformed (changed) by the (entire) renewal of your mind (by its new ideals and its new attitude)… - Romans 12:2

It is very essential to make personal growth a special goal for you to maximize your potential. If you are not growing, your destiny will be going downhill. Many people are living in the past because they are resistant to new information, ideology, technology and innovations. The society in which we are is changing. So if you are not forward thinking and applying your heart to wisdom, it will be baseless for you to demand a place in the frontline where people with a value adding mindset are celebrated.

If you want to play in the big leagues, you must make conscious effort and decision that will trigger your growth desire. No growth is automatic. It is a gradual process towards achieving a goal. It is a goal in itself to make you change from one position, level or thinking to another in the positive direction. Things don’t change automatically; they change with time and with conscious effort to stimulate the change. If you want to demonstrate competence in a particular field of knowledge, you must engage your mind to keep learning, unlearning and relearning from time to time.

It is important to know that you have the potential to grow and keep growing but you must firm up your mind to make it a core desire to be pursued. So if you don’t change your thinking and mindset towards becoming a better person than you were yesterday, you will be doing yourself more harm than good. Your destiny lies in your hands. If you want things to change, the change begins with you as you make conscious effort to be the frontline player in your destiny, to actualize your growth desire. May your destiny not wither on the vine as you begin to nurture your growth desire with passion and commitment in Jesus name.
