Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him]; again I say, Rejoice! - Phil. 4:4
Rejoicing in the time of adversity shows that you have confidence in the sovereignty and supremacy of God over what you might be going through. The devil prefers to see you mourn than to see you merry before God. But as long as you choose to rejoice in the Lord, God will give your case precedence over complainers and ingrates and shame the devil who continually expects you to sorrow.
Anyone who rejoices before the Lord draws divine strength from God to move mountains. Put differently, your decision to praise God sets you on fire with the power to subdue every force or opposition that may be terrorizing your life. Nehemiah and his associates gave the children of Israel a kick, charging them not to sorrow but unveiled to them that the joy of the Lord is their strength.
Rejoicing before the Lord also commands divine shower upon your soul. Because God takes delight in the praise of His people, it equally delights Him to shower them with blessings beyond their understanding. Finally, when you choose to rejoice in the Lord, God puts His divine seal of protection and favour upon your life. Hence, it’s highly rewarding to rejoice before the Lord than to quiz God on why He has not answered all your prayers and petitions. Certainly, He will answer them with testimonies following. Just rejoice before Him and you will see His power at work in your life. May your heart be thrilled to worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness regardless of what you might be going through in Jesus name.
