THE HIGHEST CALLING OF A LEADER

Go then and make disciples of all the nations,...Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you... - Matt. 28:19-20

Building a high performance team cannot be divorced from the role of great leaders. Great leaders are not just mindful of their personal growth alone but are also keen about the growth and development of their team. Their goals reflect a combination of personal and people development. When leaders look the other way and fail to bring their team up to speed, they create room for mediocrity to take the center stage in their leadership space.

The lifestyle of Jesus was depicted in the way of life of the Church at Antioch. It was evident that Jesus reproduced Himself in them. Likewise, the early Apostles were a spitting image of Christ especially from the way the Pharisees saw it. The Bible said the Pharisee took notice of them that they had been with Jesus. The Pharisees could not discriminate between the lifestyle of Jesus and the norms of the Apostles (Act 4:13). It goes without saying that the growth and development of followers should reflect on the front burner of leadership goals. By this, great leaders could reproduce themselves to ensure a continuous cycle of impact.

The continuous education and training of the early Apostles by the Master, which was accompanied by great exploits lent credence to the impactful leadership style of Jesus. Jesus groomed them ahead of the tasks they had to square up to. He gave them the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership potential and also to exercise their faith for exploits. Ultimately, they became men that subdued kingdom and kept demons under subjection. They were enriched with sound wisdom because they sat frequently at the feet of Jesus. Therefore, may the Lord endow you with inspiration and wisdom to bring your team up to speed, so you could leave an enviable legacy as a value-adding leader in Jesus name
