MAKING EXCUSES IS A SHORT CUT TO FAILURE

So I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground, Here you have what is your own – Matthew 25:25

No one is endorsed as an accomplished personality on account of the frequency of the excuses he or she gives. Celebrities are not crowned with glory because they avoid challenges but rather because they rise to the occasion when they are confronted with challenges. In your pursuit to reach your goal, you would reap the harvest of fulfillment and joy if you don’t allow unpleasant circumstances to put you off your stride towards success.

When it becomes a norm to make excuses for everything that is worth striving for, you will be depleting the drive that could have been channeled towards its pursuit. Excuses give you a stress-free ticket to access the route to failure. It does not guarantee a life of fulfillment and accomplishment. People use excuses as a short-cut to justify their inaction, thereby losing sight of the fact that the more they make excuses, the farther they are from reaching their goals in life.

The parable of the talents unveiled the harvest of shame which an unfaithful servant was made to reap because he allowed the fear of failure to ruin his destiny. The unfaithful servant chose to hide his talent in the earth instead of investing it judiciously like his fellow counterparts. When he was called to account for what was allocated to him, all he did was to entertain his master with excuses. His explanation cut no ice with his master and was, as a result, scolded and made to undergo a severe punishment. Therefore, I pray God endow you with a willing and fervent spirit to rise to occasion with enduring solutions when the need arises in Jesus name.
