As for you, you thought evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring about that many should be kept alive, as they are this day – Gen. 50:20
Ignorance of purpose can cause a man to throw a treasure into the ocean. It could also cause a man to take a dim view of the inherent riches and glory of fulfilling his purpose. However, when he understands his purpose, his destiny will be set on the course to radiate with significance. Because the purpose of God behind every created thing is hidden, people tend to live in ignorance without enquiring to discover it. The Bible says that, “The secret things belong to God but the things that are revealed belong to us…” If you don’t discover what belongs to you, you might be living the lifestyle of another man while you imitate his attributes and despise the originality of the mystery behind your creation.
The brothers of Joseph were oblivious of the purpose behind the inclusion of Joseph in the family of Jacob. They were unable to see Joseph as the preserver of life, whom God had sent to them. The brothers of Joseph and the Jews that crucified Christ could be tarred with the same brush because both of them failed to understand the mystery behind creation. Both exhibited ignorance and were bent on killing the “Messiah” God sent their way. Joseph was a divine agent of life whose birth was to prevent the wipe out of his generation and to preserve the generation after him. He was a global leader who knew his purpose and chose to follow the Lord’s way.
Are you living in ignorance of God’s mandate for your life? You might be another Joseph God is sending out to preserve destinies or another Esther who will fight for the deliverance of the oppressed and destitute in the society. Get behind closed door with God to unveil the mystery of your birth; the ultimate plan of God for your life, so you could keep to the straight and narrow for a glorious tomorrow. May you not live aimlessly in the wilderness of confusion leading to a frustrated life in Jesus name.
