Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vine…yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will exult in the God of my salvation – Hab. 3:17-18
It amounts to a waste of time for someone to keep crying over spilled milk when opportunities abound to straighten things out. The fact that you failed yesterday does not give you a strong justification to throw your hands up in despair. The learning experience from yesterday’s failure shouldn’t be allowed to go to waste. It should propel you to chart a new and promising course for a profitable tomorrow. Allowing discouragement to make you ring down the cotton on your pursuit is not the in thing to do when you are tossed to and fro by the storms of life. Regardless of the severity of the storm, you need to pin your hope in God and put up a brave front, so you could weather the storm.
When it seems as if all your efforts are not yielding the desired result, you shouldn’t throw in the towel. You might just be a step away from your breakthrough. If you could go a little over and above the time you have sunk in the pursuit of your goal, you might be surprised to discover that you are closer to success than you can imagine. The mere reason that everything around you points to you as a failure, does not necessarily means that it is the end of the road for you. That shouldn’t be a valid justification to chicken out of the pursuit of your goal. You might just have to pull through with the right mindset that no matter what comes your way, your success is not negotiable.
Prophet Habakkuk chose to be positive-minded in the face of fruitless effort. He believed that his inability to reap the harvest he desired at the time of harvest is not enough ground to sink him into despair. And would rather not allow it to put a damper on his effort to try again and again, until he rakes in the harvest he desires. So it isn’t time to retire because of your repeated failure. Be positive-minded as you pursue your goal and never allow discouragement to put you off your stride. May you not fall by the way side in trying times while others are pulling through and experiencing a turn of the tide in their favour in Jesus name.
