When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. - Gen 39:3-4
Before you advance to playing in the big league, it is essential for you to cut your teeth on minor tasks. This will help you to develop the courage of your conviction to handle major tasks. Put in another way, you have to learn to walk before you begin to run. If you are wrestling with minor tasks, it's just a signal that you aren't prepared to take care of major tasks. If you cannot manage your time, emotion or treasure, it will be difficult to manage yourself and will certainly be a tall order to manage others and key commitments. Before a more demanding role can be put in your hands, it is essential that you demonstrate the competence that will certify you as fit and proper to deliver top notch result.
Joseph had a golden reputation with his master. He had all it takes to do a remarkable job and hit his master between the eyes. Aside from his competence and skilfulness, he was highly responsive and ever ready to give a good account of himself. Without bias to his nationality, his personality and divine identify made him to find favour before Potiphar, his master. Indeed, Joseph was in his master's good books. Hence, Potiphar put everything he had in Joseph's hands because he deemed him accountable over and beyond other servants on his watch. The account of Joseph taking the shots as personal assistant to Potiphar speaks to the need to be reputable for diligence and stewardship in service.
If you don't pass as a responsibility seeker, you will certainly have nothing on other people who plug away until they deliver top notch performance. People who shirk their tasks are not classic  examples of people who play in the big league. Until you demonstrate the will and stomach for doing the seemingly difficult task and demonstrate a sense of accountability, you won't be able to rise to stardom. Hence, if you are identified as one who often pushes off his work to others and hang on the coattails of others for quality result, then, nothing meaningful will be left in your hands. Therefore, wise up! Become accountable and be ready to bring value to the table. May you not be tossed aside when others are recognised for their fidelity, commitment and sound stewardship, even as you begin to show greater sense of accountability in Jesus name.
