STICKING TO GODLY STANDARD

But the firm foundation of (laid by) God stands, sure andunshaken, bearing this seal (inscription): The Lord knows those who are His, and, Let everyone who names [himself by] the name of the Lord give up all iniquity and stand aloof from it. - 2 Tim. 2:19

God is keen about keeping to His standard if you really want to please Him with all your heart and soul. Hence, you can't afford to be found where God has not pitched His tent. It is not in the trait of the righteous to shuttle between godliness and worldliness. When a Christian loses sight of his identity, he may assume that a little bliss with the world will not make God to have hard feelings about his infidelity. As a child of God, you need to appreciate the truth that as much as God is caring, He is also a devouring fire, not to frighten you but to keep you in fearful reverence of His attribute.

Hence, in your desire to work with God, you need to resolve to follow God all the way and not half way. You cannot afford to journey with God and stop half way. When you surrender your heart to Jesus, never conceive the thought of building the bridge linking back to the world. Rather, stay connected to God while you whet your appetite with the glory of His presence. The sons of Rechab stuck to the instruction of their father. In spite of their father's absence to keep an eye on them, they were resolved not to fall short of their father's instruction even in the face of temptation.

Allowing the force of temptation to overrule your emotions will cause a crack in your foundation. Hence, you need to be deeply rooted in Christ and make Him your true standard of righteousness. God has not re-branded righteousness. So, it remains righteousness. God has not diluted it to allow mixed multitude into His house. Inasmuch as God does not downplay the attribute of having a right standing with Him, you need to stick to His standard. The divine security that keeps you fearless in the day of adversity is righteousness. The Bible says that the wicked runs when no one pursues but the righteous are as bold as lion. As you stick to God's directive to journey through the narrow way that leads to eternal life, may you enjoy divine security and satisfaction which are deliverable God's elect in Jesus name
