Many
people get bogged down by pursuing interests that contribute nothing to the
bottom line. Others believe that something is better than nothing. However, they
fail to identify the pursuit that brings out the best in them. Some keep trying
their hands in one adventure or the other. Others want to have their finger in
every pie but are unable to fly high and get to the frontline. But those that have
sound grasp of their core areas of strength usually pursue the goals that line
up with their strength and thereby often emerge on the radar. Hence, you cannot
run on another man’s track without a major hitch, if you are lacking in the requisite
gifting to make you hit the mark.
Once
you identify the pursuit that brings that best out of you, you should give
evidence of your readiness to throw yourself into it. Professing greatness,
without applying yourself to attain it, is a detachment from reality.
Whatsoever that is worth doing is what places a high premium on your life.
Hence, the pursuit of any other goal that is a far cry from what you have been
destined to achieve doesn’t in any way worth the trouble, if you keep plodding
away at it. That is why the Bible says that wisdom is profitable to direct.
Allowing
your feelings to undermine your willpower to pursue your dreams is likewise counterproductive.
When your feeling does not line up with the traits you require to accomplish your
goals, you need to keep it under control. Hence, never allow your time to waste
away by pursuing mundane things or allow your feelings to deflate your drive to
do what is essentially important to the fulfilment of your destiny. Joshua, the
successor of Moses, identified kingdom service as the worthwhile adventure for
himself and his family. He chose to busy himself with the pursuit that will
outlive him and impact his generation. Are you doing the things that are worth
doing? I pray God fortify you with the drive and resilience to pursue the right
goals that will take you to your desired destination of glory and honour in
Jesus name.
