The Christian life is a pilgrimage that
is full of assurance and expression of boundless joy, even in the face of
adversity. Some people choose not to dedicate their lives to God because of the
misconception that a soul that aligns himself with God will not be at liberty
to have fun. They fail to realize that the greatest joy on earth does not come
from the things that are seen. If they had known that the Spirit of God in the
life of a man is a spring of everlasting joy, they would have disentangled
themselves from worldliness. Until you draw near to God and taste of His
goodness, you will be operating under the delusion that the world is the
central point for maximum pleasure.
The psalmist knew that the best place to
experience joy to overflowing is God’s presence. That was why he said, “You
will show me the path of life, for in your presence there is fullness of joy”
(Ps 16:11). When you stand in God’s presence and reverence His awesomeness, the
joy of His presence will catapult you out of this world into the realm of the
supernatural.
Joy like a river can also flood the heart
of man who experiences a divine visitation. When the Lord God says it’s your
turn for a miracle, which you have been waiting for, your heart cannot but
overflow with joy. The Bible says when the Lord turned again the captivity of
Zion, they were like those that dream; their mouths were filled with laughter
and their tongues with singing (Ps. 126). Hence, I pray God remember you for
good and visit you with pleasant surprises, which will keep you overflowing
with joy unspeakable in Jesus name.
When the host of enemies that were
pursuing hard after the children of Israel were stuck in the Red Sea and were
unable to make headway or move forward, God was preparing the ground for the
Israelites to rejoice with exceeding great joy. Are there stubborn pursuers in
your life? Are there limiting factors to your joy? Are you experiencing sorrow
over lost possessions? God is restoring them to you now in Jesus name. Enemies
that do not want you to sing for joy will certainly sink into despair while you
rejoice with exceeding great joy before God. As you encounter God today, may
the oil of joy overflow in your life, to silence everything causing you to
sorrow in Jesus name.
