Running towards the
accomplishment of a goal could be very demanding. However, you just have to keep
on carrying your own weight as much as possible before you can begin to see daylight.
Every runner who desires to reach the finish line does not stop half way. They
persevere at running with the hope of hitting the mark. What goals are you
pursuing in life? Having taken the first step, you need to keep plodding away
at accomplishing your set goals. So when discouragement sets into your heart,
know that it isn’t the time throw in the towel. When it appears that you are
getting to your breaking point, you may have to get yourself renewed with fresh
grace to forge ahead.
Sadly, when David caught
wind of the invasion of the Amalekites against the camp of his team and campaigners,
he wept until there was no more strength in him. The invaders carted away with
possessions, both human and material. However, David knew that his weeping wasn’t
the solution to the problem. In spite of the loss and damage the invaders had
caused his team, he knew he had to face the problem head on and get to the root
of the matter. Hence, he encouraged himself in the Lord. David had confidence
in the Lord, trusting that he will recover all the lost possessions, if he could
apply himself; and if the Lord will approve of his mission for the recovery.
It bears mentioning that motivating
yourself gives you the renewed energy to push ahead with the attainment of your
goals. You need to bear in mind that quitters end up being bitter. Running half
way does not translate into winning a championship. Throwing in the towel is
not a sign of passionate desire to finish strong. When people try to chop down
your plan, make it a desire to succeed against all odds. When it appears as if all
roads are blocked, be resolved to keep making progress. Though it may be slowly
but surely you will get to your desired destination. Hence, may you not lose
confidence in yourself and in your dreams when you are almost at the finish
line in Jesus name.
