ENCOMPASSED WITH FAVOUR

For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. – Psalm 5:12

God does not profile the ungodly into the exclusive list of those He chooses to favour. If God will favour anyone, the righteous comes top on His list. This is because God takes pleasure in their prosperity. Favour is the divine dividend which compensates for the many afflictions of the righteous. Hence, without favour, the righteous, while in his afflictions, will be hapless and hopeless. The favour of God upon the life of the righteous makes his pilgrimage an adventure with the assurance of securing a glorious and colourful future in spite of many dangers and afflictions on his way.

To be encompassed with favour is to dwell within the circumference of God’s blessings. Hence, when you are encompassed with God’s favour, you will become a reference point of God’s blessings. Queen Esther became a reference point of favour because she obtained favour at an unusual time. She showed up before King of Ahasuerus at a time when she could have been made a scape goat but God’s gate of favour was opened to her.

The account of David revealed that when a man is encompassed with favour, he becomes the PREFERENCE of the Lord. David was preferred above his brothers who thought less of him. His father never knew he would become a national leader, so he was left to take care of his father’s flock in the bush. However, because God had encompassed him with favour, he emerged from behind and took the stage. Hence, I pray that garment of disfavor keeping you at bay from reaching and possessing your blessings shall be consumed with fire, to allow for God’s favour to flood your life in Jesus name.
