GRACE FOR LEADERSHIP

“And Joshua son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him; so the Israelites listened to him and did as the Lord commanded Moses” – Deut. 34:9

A leader who operates without the grace of God brings dishonor, disrepute, confusion and division while performing his oversight function. King Rehoboam, the son of King Solomon, did not allow the grace of Lord to stir the affairs of his leadership. He allowed ungodly influence and counsel to dictate his leadership style and decisions. The king imposed unbearable fiscal obligation upon the Israelites, which made him to enter into a collision course with the people. In the course of time, his kingdom was divided before his face.

When leaders lack the grace for their leadership seat, they would be deficient in safeguarding their followers against invaders, peril and threats. Because King Saul fell from grace and out of favour with God, the Philistines prevailed over him and brought his existence to an untimely end. Accordingly, the Israelites on his watch were despised as sheep without shepherd. In other for history not to repeat itself, wise leaders rather display high esteem and regard for the grace of God upon their lives.

For all practical purposes, the grace for leadership is given for exploits in overseeing and safeguarding the well-being of the sheep. Apostle Paul understood the significance of the immense grace of God upon his life. The same grace made him to exceed the other early Apostles in mighty works and other ministerial endeavours. May the Lord cause the horn of your leadership never to run dry as you enrich the destinies that have been attached to you as a choice leader of the Chief Shepherd in Jesus name.
