For
I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle,
because I persecuted the church of God. – I Corinthians 15:9
Training
your sights on a goal that will not impact well on your future is a misappropriation
of your time and destiny. You cannot afford to concern yourself about the
pursuit of a goal that is chosen without a sense of purpose. Purpose should be
the supreme factor in your choice of a goal. Purpose is the description of your
life sentence, which unveils the ultimate essence of your existence. Understandably,
getting on the bandwagon does not always translate to a life of success. Hence,
you may want to hit the brakes and reassess your life to ascertain if you are
on the right track. And if necessary, you may want to consider reinventing
yourself.
When
you come to the realization that your destiny is wasting away because your life
pursuit is not in sync with God’s purpose for your life, you need to go back to
the drawing board and wipe the slate clean. Attempting to be what you are not destined
to be has a depreciating effect on your future. Prior to his assumption as an
Apostle of Christ, Apostle Paul, who was called Saul in his previous life, had
a reputation for persecuting the Church. He was preoccupied with the mission to
persecute the Church to the extent that he received the endorsement of theology
heavyweights of his time, who were enemies of the Gospel. But when it dawned on
him that he was not only persecuting the Church but also the Head of the
Church, who is Christ, it became necessary for him to reinvent himself.
Hence,
there was a paradigm shift in the vocation of Paul from being a persecutor to a
preacher of the Gospel. His life began to answer to the description of an addicted
preacher and apologist of the Gospel. With vim and vigour, he defended the
Gospel before those who endorsed his mission to wreak havoc with the peace of
the Church. Even though he had to grapple with severe persecution for leading a
new life in Christ, he ultimately found purpose. His alignment with purpose put
him in the spotlight. His revelation of Jesus and knowledge of the Law of the
Lord became fruitful, which came in handy in his epistles to the Church.
Are
you being fast-talked into pursuing a goal that will grind your destiny to a
halt? Are you being influenced with good intentions to pursue a goal that does
not have bearing on your mission in life? You may want to consider reinventing
yourself so avoid a monumental waste of your time and destiny. Hence, I pray the
Lord enlighten your eyes of understanding to pursue the goals that will make
you fruitful and flourishing and also give you the grace to be resilient until
your hit the mark with a sense of all round fulfillment in Jesus name
