As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axe head fell
into the water. "Oh no, my lord!" he cried out. "It was
borrowed!" – II Kings 6:5
God didn’t create you to reap and
count losses and miseries, but rather to experience His goodness and thereby count
your blessings. That is why the Bible say that “Oh that men should praise the
Lord for His goodness and wonderful works…” (Ps. 107:8). Peradventure the devil
has despoiled you of your blessings, fret not, because God will arise to
restore you in multiple fold. Because God did not create you to accumulate losses,
everything you have lost shall find its way back into your life in Jesus name.
In II Kings 6, when one of the
sons of the prophet who borrowed the head of an axe lost it to the waters, he
knew that he had borrowed trouble if he could not return the axe head.
Interestingly, though he cried his eyes out but he didn’t hide the ugly
incident from Elisha, the man of God. Because nothing is impossible with God,
the head axe found its way back out of the waters. The loss of the axe head was,
of course, a case of non-recoupable loss in the sight of the son of the
prophet, but know that when God takes over your case, what is considered lost
in your sight is under the eagle eye of the Lord.
Certainly. God’s package of
restoration is colossal and complete. Hence, God doesn’t restore a man half
way. He rather gives him a total package of restoration of everything he had
lost. Because the hand of the Lord is not shortened to only help you to an
extent, everything you have lost shall be fully restored back to you, to make
your joy full and overflow in Jesus name. Jesus is the Great Restorer whose
restoration power is unlimited. Seek His face today over your lost possessions
and your face will begin to radiate with joy in Jesus name.
