FASHIONED IN HIS LIKENESS

For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. - Romans 8:29

God is not disinterested in fashion but distastes passion for lustful fashion. In Exodus 28, the Lord God instructed Moses to hand off the task of designing special garments for Aaron and his sons, to fashion designers whom He had endowed with wisdom, for the beauty and honour of Aaron's priesthood. However, it wasn't aimed at spawning lustful desire or hunger to gratify the flesh. Many attires today are out of line with the attributes of Christian dressing. This is partly attributable to wilful disregard for sound biblical teaching on dressing and ungodly influence which have made many to jettison decency and modesty in their dressing. A believer who desires to exemplify the true virtues of Christianity and represent Christ acceptably need to be mindful of his or her choice of fashion, as part of the boxes that must be ticked in order to lead an acceptable life unto God.

One of the essential requirements for acceptable dressing is MODERATION OR MODESTY. Many Christians have thrown biblical caution to the wind when it comes to their choice of fashion. They fail to come to terms on the need to embrace moderation in what they wear. Some go overboard and come across as masquerades, because they fail to retain their divine beauty and identity, all in the name of appearing fashionable. Inasmuch as God is not disinterested in your beauty, it is preferable to err on the side of being modest as opposed to molesting people with inordinate fashion. Because some folks don't know where to draw the line, or wouldn't want to take precaution, they attempt to recreate themselves in a way that displeases God.

Some Christians are gullible and have allowed themselves to be misled and infuenced by the world system of dressing. They jump on the band wagon without giving adequate thought to what they wear. This reveals that a Christian who joins MULTITUDE TO DRESS IN AN UNGODLY WAY prefers to trade his or her identity in Christ for inordinate fashion. That a fashion is in vogue does not make it divinely acceptable. The devil is leading many down the garden path, as he did to Eve, to make them opt in for seduction, molestation and promiscuity through the instrument of dressing. So take heed!

Admittedly, the issue of acceptable or Christian dressing is a hot potato (attracting much controversy), all over the world. However, it bears mentioning that many are engaged in indecent dressing because their MOTIVE FOR DRESSING IS TO ATTRACT LUSTFUL ATTENTION TO THE OPPOSITE SEX. If your motive is wrong, you would be working in cahoots with the devil to advance seduction. Advertising your intimate apparel or body parts meant to be covered attracts divine penalty except you restitute your ways. It is biblically instructive to say that an attire which you wear in public should be abandoned if wearing such will cause others to stumble and fall. When people begin to say you are on fire, extremely looking sexy, pouring down praises on your seductive outfit, it would be profitable and instructive to do a rethink about your choice of fashion.

Many Christians who are stalwarts of inner purity only have played down the significance of the outward appearance, thereby providing grounds to endorse their choice of inordinate fashion. While some advocates of decent outward appearance are not living up to God's expectations for their lives. Truth be told that the purity of your heart is as important as your outward appearance. Hence, as a child of God, you need to put on the MANTLE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. If Christ is not seen in you, regardless of the decency of your outward appearance, the Lord God would not certify you as a candidate of heaven. The mantle of righteousness keeps you on your toes, helping you to be mindful of how you dress and how you represent Christ in your relationship with man and God. The bottom line is that those who are fashioned in God's likeness are strident and would stop at noting in order not to come short of the  purity of their hearts and also in their choice of fashion. The choice is yours. Why not make amends today where you need to and God will ultimately endow you with the ceremonious bridal robe for His faithful and true friends in the Kingdom to come.
