READINESS AHEAD OF BATTLE

The horse is prepared for the day of battle but victory comes from the Lord - Prov. 21:31

Life is a battlefield that gives you the choice of victory or defeat. A battle prepared for doesn’t rob you of your divine identity and of your enviable status . When you despise the importance of preparation, battles come in unawares to deflate your dignity and royalty. Battles are very challenging encounter that have the capacity to erode your position and overthrow you from your domain. They are also both physical and spiritual vehicles that stir the fighting spirit in you in every championship you face in life.

The Bible says that the horse is prepared for the day of battle and not in the day of battle. Nehemiah, the renowned governor of the Jews, at the time of their dispersion, had to prepare himself for the challenge of rebuilding the walls and gate of Jerusalem. When opposition arose against the rebuilding of Jerusalem, Nehemiah was battle ready against the fierce opposition that moved to disrupt the work.

Readiness ahead of battle doesn’t leave you to nurse wounds and mourn in defeat. It helps you to be victory-conscious. It keeps you alert to confront your Goliath and to bring him down to his knees. David, as a shepherd boy, was preparing himself for great encounter while in the wilderness. When the battle beyond the strength of the Israelites came on scene, David was not intimated to appear on the battlefield. His emergence put an end to Goliath’s threat.

When you are battle ready, the threat of failure and the voice of defeat would be silenced. Therefore I pray: May you experience victory as prepare your heart ahead of battles that may be staged against you, to rob you of your dignity and royalty in Jesus name.
