THE OIL OF GLADNESS

You have loved righteousness and have hated lawlessness. Therefore God, Your God has anointed you with the oil of gladness above thy fellows – Heb. 1:9

A sorrowful heart cannot spring forth into thanksgiving to God. It will rather express grief, bitterness and complaints. But God wants you to be cheerful, joyful and blissful because He has overcome the world. Your portion in the Lord is everlasting joy which the Lord alone can give. You don’t have to grieve anymore because Jesus took up your reasons to sorrow and were all nailed to the Cross.

It is God’s command that the righteous should rejoice before God. Because God fights for them while they hold their peace. God supports the cause of the righteous and pass judgement on their adversaries. God wants to see you celebrate your victory over the enemies that want you to sorrow. When Hannah brought forth her first child, God enlarged her mouth over her adversary. God will enlarge your mouth over every adversary of your life.

The oil of gladness is the oil of the Spirit which the Lord pours out on the righteous for their love and pursuit of righteousness. If you have appetite for sin in lieu of the thirst for righteousness, you will endanger your heart with sorrow when the storm of life rises against you. The joy of the Lord will not be poured out on a sinner to enable him withstand the stormy wind from the pit of hell. Therefore, I pray you become anointed by the Lord with His oil of gladness to terminate every reason to sorrow in your life in Jesus name.
