WISE COMPANIONS

He who walks with wise men is wise, but a companion of fools shall be destroyed – Prov.13:20

To be successful in life, you need to identify and connect with the right network of people that are purpose-driven. People that are passionate about material gains at the expense of living a godly life end up living a sorrowful life and not a successful life. The Bible says, He that is greedy of gain troubles his house (Prov. 15:27). If your friends and associates are not keen about the fear of the Lord and fellowship with God, your association with them will dissociate and exclude you from accessing the treasures of the Kingdom of God.

Friendship is a gift that can draw you nearer to God or drift you apart from your Maker. King Rehoboam, the son of King Solomon, was ill-advised by his friends on the governance and national fiscal policy direction for Israel. He gullibly followed their destructive advice without weighing its consequence on the welfare and living condition of the Israelites. In the long run, his unfair decision was refuted by the Israelites, which caused him to loss his sovereignty over a significant portion of the kingdom.

If the direction of your life is influenced by friends without vision, and passion for God, excellence and impactful life, you are in the wrong association. The Bible says, He that walks with the wise shall be wise but the companion of fools shall be destroyed. Therefore, you need to identify with people that will help you discover yourself, stir you into godly actions and influence you to pursue success without compromising your loyalty to God. Therefore I pray: May you find and flow with the right companions that will bring out the champion in you in Jesus name.
