“…As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” – Joshua 24:15
What you choose to become is a reflection of the state of your mind. Great minds think and desire to attain to excellence while small minds are contented with an average life. The choice you make is a distinguishing factor in determining the direction and altitude of your life.
The merits that are attributable to a life of excellence outweigh the cost. One of the merits is that it gives you a dignifying mark of honour and makes you to be in alignment with the perfect plan of God for your life. The Bible says, “The path of a righteous man is like a shining light that shines more and more unto the perfect day.” In order words, when you choose to life for God, you will not wind up as a misfit and wasteful project in God’s hand. The excellent nature of God rubs off upon you when you align to do His will.
Joshua gave the children of Israel a kick and stirred them to make a choice between serving God and the gods of the rebellious nations whose lands they possessed through God’s mandate. He went further to set the pace by making a choice that will yield excellence when he said, “…As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”  Do you desire to toe the line and wind up as a reflection of the excellent nature of God? I pray the Lord stir your heart to choose and pursue excellence until you reflect the perfect image of God and fulfill His mandate for your life in Jesus name.
