But Jesus, knowing (seeing) their thoughts, said, Why do you think evil and harbor malice in your hearts? - Matt. 9:4
Your leadership may be short-lived if you cannot discriminate between good and evil. When leaders demonstrate the gift of discernment, they escape being screwed, blued and tatooed. Put differently, they escape the trap of doers of mischief and deceivers.
The Pharisees moved heaven and earth to level a charge of blasphemy against Jesus. At several points in time, they put him to test so they could short-live His ministry. Because He was able to discern their thoughts and imaginations, He escaped their trap.
Therefore when leaders discern with the help of the Holy Spirit, they will be able to expose and disrupt the destructive scheme staged to mar their destinies and ministries. It is based on this merit that successful leaders exercise themselves to be up to speed with the frequency of the Holy Spirit, who empowers them with spiritual intelligence. Therefore, I pray, may you not suffer the deceptive scheme of agents of mischief as the Lord endows you with the gift of discernment in Jesus name.
