KEEPING THE DEVIL AT BAY

Then Jesus said to him, Begone, Satan! For it has been written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him alone shall you serve. Matthew 4:10

I once read that, “A part-time Christian cannot defeat the full-time devil.” If you would bring the devil to his knees, you must be spiritually fit and divinely certified as a soldier of Christ. Any championship between you and the devil, without God’s backing will give the devil the upper hand to bring you down. If God is not delighted to command the heavens to beat the drum for you while you confront the devil, you may suffer overwhelming defeat. But when the devil knows that you are a certified divine champion who has been profiled in heaven as God’s favourite, the devil will understand that your territory is not a place to play havoc.

If the devil would distance himself from you, it would not happen by being spiritually lukewarm. A lukewarm life attracts unsolicited visitation by the devil whose mission is play havoc with your soul. But if you are fervent in the spirit, your emergence in the domain of the devil will certainly trigger fear in his camp. It will cause them to quaver and hit the panic button. When heaven close ranks with you in confronting the devil, the devil’s best bet would either be to strike a peace agreement with you or risk outright destruction by the host of heaven.

Anyone who fraternizes with the devil and indulges in gratifying the flesh will experience demonic invasion. Through negligence and deceptive schemes, some people have been held hostage by the devil. They have been ensnared and entangled by covenants through which the devil takes a firm grip on their lives. Instead of keeping the devil at bay, their lives have been battered and besieged by the forces of hell. Don’t be deceived by worldly affections that will put a strain on your liberty in Christ. You need to keep flaming with the fire of God so you don’t become a prey in the hands of the devil. This will also help you keep devil and his agents who masquerade as angels of light at a distance. May the Lord God overshadow with His presence to keep every demonic presence at a distance from your habitation in Jesus name.
