WHEN THE HEAVENS ARE OPENED

And when Jesus was baptized, He went up at once out of the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he [John] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him. And behold, a voice from heaven said, This is My Son, My Beloved, in Whom I delight! - Matt. 3:16-17

God has not put a hold on His intervention in the affairs of men. His people rank as primary beneficiaries of His riches. God gives them red carpet treatment and assigns them with ministering angels, to keep watch over them. God does not keep a closed door policy. He even humbles Himself to stand at the door of your heart. Hence, because God does not keep to Himself, He opens His heavens and makes Himself accessible to anyone who draws near to Him in full assurance of faith

The opening of the heavens over the beloved of the Lord signifies that they have a Redeemer who does not distance Himself from them, though He makes the heaven is throne. When it pleases the Lord to open the heavens over your life, four major events could happen. (1) He ANNOUNCES Himself as your Shield, Glory and Lifter of your head. That means for your head not to be buried in shame, God will rather open His heavens for your sake (2) He visits the FOUNDATION of your life to repair what is faulty and make you firm and established in all your ways.

Also, when the heavens are opened, (3) God will certainly SURROUND you with His presence. The opening of the gate of heaven is partly to ensure that you are not left outside the gate, to be at the mercy of principalities and powers. Finally, when the heavens are opened, (4) God gives you a FOUNTAIN of blessings that will be inexhaustible. Hence, you can't afford to live under a closed heaven. As you seek the face of the Lord in prayers, may He cause His heavens to be opened over you in Jesus name.
