It’s
not in God’s agenda to endanger and encompass the works of His hands with
bitterness. Jesus didn’t go about compounding the sorrow of those afflicted
with burdens and afflictions. He rather went about doing good, putting smiles
on the faces of those who were tossed to and fro with afflictions. He stepped
in to comfort those that mourned; to give them the garment of praise for the
spirit of heaviness. If you are going through a bitter or unpleasant situation right
now, be at peace and be assured that God has made abundant provision for you to
brim with joy. Your bitterness is just a passage to the sweetness that lies
ahead of you down the road.
When
the children of Israel got to Marah and were very thirsty, they discovered that
the waters at Marah was bitter. They drew backwards because the waters didn’t
pass for the refreshing of their thirsty souls. However, because they were in
God’s company and God had not finished His work on them, the Lord God stepped
into their ugly situation. This reveals that if you are in God’s company, the
fountain of bitterness will never extend beyond its expiry date. Because the
Bible says weeping may endure for a night; but joy comes in the morning.
God
is about to throw Himself into your situation and make your bitter fountain to
become a fountain of sweetness and all round refreshing. The bitter waters of
Marah would have brought leanness to the souls of the Israelites if the Lord
God didn’t intervene to turn the situation around. They would have been lowered
to zero level in outright despair; they would have lacked the drive to progress
to the Land of Promise. But God arose and turned the tide. I decree that, henceforth,
every fountain of bitterness compounding your heart with sorrow shall become
spring of sweetness to refresh your soul with overflowing joy in Jesus name. Happy
