No
one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the
authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this
is what my father has commanded." – John 10:18
Everything
Jesus suffered on the Cross figured up to the ultimate ransom for the
redemption of man. No one in the universe can willingly lay down his life for
another and demonstrate the power to take it up in resurrection. That was an
exclusive attribute of Christ and by it He became the ultimate Gateway to
eternal life. The death of Christ on the Cross was not a mere expression of
God’s wrath towards sin but God’s total package for the expansion of His
kingdom. Jesus died to become the Captain of our salvation and to raise a
formidable army to disintegrate and depopulate the devil’s kingdom.
The
death of Jesus on the cross opened the channel for the remission of sin. The
Bible says that without the shedding of the blood, there is no remission of
sin. The death of Christ made it possible for man to access the throne of God
to obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need. In addition, the
death of Christ on the Cross endorses mankind with the redemptive right to lay
claim to the blessings of Abraham and experience the riches of heaven. Hence, without
the death of Christ, the world would have been tolling under the curse of the
Law.
Jesus
laid down His life for mankind. He demonstrated this in many ways but
ultimately while on the Cross. He wants you to lay down your life for others,
partly by enlightening their hearts to enable them to see the light of the
glorious Gospel of Christ. But living a life which is at variance with the life
of Christ is invoking the consequence of damnation. Those who despise the Cross
and misconceive the earth as their ultimate place of eternal habitation have
allowed the devil to fast-talk them out of God’s ultimate plan for their lives.
Before it is late in the day, run to the Cross. Connect with Jesus today for
the salvation of your soul and your life will be redirected from the pathway of
destruction to experience abundant life in Christ. May your soul not be
profiled for destruction but rather for eternal habitation with God, at the end
of the age, in Jesus name.
